How to Convert Adult Novelty Sales Online

"How can I get my adult novelty e-commerce store to convert more customers?"

Ah, the million-dollar question for online e-commerce retailers.

What are the best ways to increase e-commerce sales in your online store? There is a multitude of website conversion hacks (shortcuts) that many people abide by. And the short answer is, they are all drops in the bucket when it comes to long term e-commerce growth, there is one thing that many folks don't quite understand.

Here it is:

It's not about your products.

If Christmas was a brand, would it sell products (candy canes, stockings, fireplaces, string lights)? Or would it sell feelings (joy, celebration, giving, warm and cozy, togetherness)?

From shopping at a local boutique to choosing a restaurant with an aesthetic, it's not 100% about the food or the products. These choices most often come down to the feelings that result from the experience.

Why do you choose to shop and eat at specific locations?   Why buy tickets to a sporting event that you could watch at home?
Why shop in-store as opposed to on Amazon?   How is this concept applied to business?

The first part of that equation is knowing. Your. Target. Audience.   However, beyond addressing common "pain points" -- beyond "solving" the customer's problem...what lights them up and gets them excited?   ·Dial in on how someone is going to feel once they invest in or receive your product or service.   ·Consistently demonstrate how your products and services are an energetic match for your ideal customer. Energy is everything.

This builds trust and loyalty over time.   Another example: say you own a retail business. There are a plethora of product distributors to choose from. What differentiates a distributor that gets the job done vs. a distributor that you order with consistently? In my experience, it boils down to connection. I give my business to account reps who put in the effort, and genuinely care about my business.

People buy energy, emotions & feelings, not products.

Can you name a business, brand, or person that you regularly support because of the emotional connection you feel vs. their product/service features?  I'd love to hear your thoughts.
